Speech Pathology and Audiology Minor

The speech pathology and audiology minor provides the prerequisites to prepare students for graduate study in speech-language pathology or audiology. The program consists of five courses, which the accrediting agency, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), considers essential to students seeking admission to graduate programs in the field.  For more information, please contact the adviser, Nadya Pancsofar pancsofa@tcnj.edu.

Requirements

SLP Courses (5 course units)

  • SLP 102: Language, Speech, and Communication Development  (offered fall and spring semesters)
  • SLP 108: Anatomy and Physiology of Speech and Hearing Mechanism (offered spring semester)
  • SLP 205: Acoustic Phonetics (offered fall semester)
  • SLP 304: Audiological Assessment and Management of Hearing Loss (offered fall semester)
  • SLP 307: Communication Disorders: Nature, Diagnosis, and Treatment (offered spring semester)

Only one course taken as part of a student’s major may be counted toward the student’s minor.
