Scholarly Interests: Aesthetic literacy, reading pedagogical practices, literacy engagement, the role of popular culture in the classroom, young adult literature, adolescent literacy, curriculum designs, creativity in literacy practices

Achievements: Articles published in The Reading Teacher, Journal of Adolescent & Adult Literacy, and Reading Improvement, presentations at numerous national conferences, served as a literacy coach and teacher in NJ public schools, awarded the Edward Frye Fellowship Award in Literacy from Rutgers University
